For those preferring to fly, Van Don International Airport (VDO) is the nearest airport to Ha Long Bay, located about 50 kilometers away. Direct flights to Van Don are available from major cities in Vietnam and select international destinations. From the airport, you can take a taxi or shuttle bus to Ha Long Bay. So does Hai Phong Airport (HPH).

By train

While there is no direct train to Ha Long Bay, you can take a train from Hanoi to Hai Phong, which is about 75 kilometers from Ha Long Bay. From Hai Phong, you can catch a bus or taxi to Ha Long City. This option allows you to experience a scenic train ride and explore another city en route.

By Bus

Traveling to Ha Long Bay by bus is a convenient and budget-friendly option. Several bus companies operate daily services from Hanoi to Ha Long City, with the journey taking approximately 3-4 hours.
