The afternoon will immerse you in the rich local culture, starting with a visit to Lung Tam village. This village is renowned for its traditional H’Mong brocade weaving. Here, you’ll have the unique opportunity to witness skilled local artisans as they meticulously craft vibrant textiles, utilizing time-honored natural dyeing methods and ancient weaving techniques. This is also a wonderful chance to find meaningful, handmade souvenirs to remember your journey.

From Lung Tam, you’ll proceed to Du Gia, a peaceful Tay ethnic village. Here, you’ll find your haven at the Du Gia Moon Homestay, a charming retreat showcasing traditional local architecture, where you can unwind and relax.

After a delightful dinner, for groups of four or more guests, the evening will culminate in a truly unique cultural exchange. Your day begins after breakfast, as you embark on a journey along a hidden 20-kilometer scenic road, a route rarely explored by other tourists. OPTION 1: BIKING ADVENTUROUS DAY

Your day begins in Dong Van town, setting off to conquer the renowned Tham Ma Pass. This incredibly scenic and winding mountain road in Ha Giang offers the perfect opportunity to breathe in the crisp highland air and capture breathtaking photos of the dramatic natural landscape. The journey then continues to Yen Minh town, where you’ll pause at the Lao Va Chai viewpoint for panoramic vistas of rolling hills, scattered villages, and vibrant terraced fields.

After a delightful lunch in Trang Kim, the adventure truly deepens with a series of authentic, off-the-beaten-path experiences. You’ll explore a serene 15-kilometer hidden village trail, winding through peaceful forests and rural areas, offering a profound connection to untouched nature and the daily lives of ethnic minority communities. A special stop at the Vietnam–China border allows for reflection on the region’s historical and cultural crossroads. You’ll also visit a scenic viewpoint near a local elementary school, a tranquil spot to observe glimpses of mountain life. Finally, you’ll arrive at Nam Dam village, home to the Red Dao ethnic group, a traditional village famed for its rich cultural heritage and distinctive earthen-walled houses.

OPTION 2: BIKING AND HIKING DAY

our day of adventure begins at 9:00 AM, right after a hearty breakfast at your homestay. We’ll set off on motorbikes, embarking on a thrilling journey across the initial stretch of the Ma Pi Leng Pass, renowned as one of Vietnam’s most beautiful and adventurous routes. For 8-10 kilometers, you’ll be treated to breathtaking scenery and exhilarating roads.

Our first stop is a museum dedicated to the incredible individuals who painstakingly carved this legendary pass. You’ll have 10-15 minutes to explore, reflecting on their immense contributions, while your guide handles parking and prepares for our upcoming trek. From here, you’ll witness the majestic mountains of Ha Giang and the historic Nho Que River, which once marked a distant border with China.

Continuing our ascent for about 2 kilometers, we’ll reach Death Rock, a fantastic photo opportunity (though we advise against climbing due to slippery conditions). As we press on, you’ll observe remarkable cliff-side dwellings, their inhabitants ingeniously relying on rainwater and cultivating food high on the mountain. You might even encounter Hmong children and have the chance to engage with locals, learning about their unique culture.

The journey then leads us to a stunning viewpoint, the starting point for our walk across the White Cliff, the highest vertical cliff on Ma Pi Leng Pass. This narrow (0.6-1 meter wide) path, though equipped with stone steps, promises an unparalleled experience. You’ll marvel at the panoramic views down to the Nho Que River and the Tu San alley, Southeast Asia’s deepest. This section of the trek, spanning about 5 kilometers, is truly the highlight, offering incredible photo opportunities around every bend. Before concluding our morning’s 8-kilometer trek, we’ll visit a charming small H’mong village. Afterwards, your driver will take you back to Dong Van town for a well-deserved lunch.

In the afternoon, we depart Dong Van, making scenic stops at Tham Ma Pass, Lao Va Chải Viewpoint, and Cán Tỷ Panorama for photos. Our day culminates in Nậm Đăm village, where we’ll spend the night with the warm and welcoming Red Dao ethnic people, sharing a traditional dinner with your hosts.
